Privacy Policy
In short: your accounts, budgets, income and expenses are stored only on your device. We have no servers and no accounts, and we never see your financial data. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, and uses Google Firebase to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. These Google services collect device and usage data — never your financial records — as explained below.
Who we are
Finance A+ ("the app") is made by HOME BERRY (Home Berry Shop). This policy explains what information the app handles and who can see it.
Your financial records stay on your device
Everything you enter — accounts and balances, budgets, income, expenses, transfers, recurring items, notes and settings — is saved in a file inside the app on your device. This information:
- is never sent to us or to anyone else;
- is not used for advertising, analytics or profiling;
- stays on your device until you delete it, reset the app or delete the app.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, the app's data is included in that backup by Apple, under your own Apple account settings. We have no access to your backups.
Backups and reports you export
You can export a backup file or a PDF report and save or share it — for example to Files, iCloud Drive, Mail or Messages. These files go only where you choose to send them. Anyone you send them to can read them, so share them carefully.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep the app free, it shows banner ads and occasional full-screen ads provided by Google AdMob, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. We do not send any of your financial records to Google. To show, limit and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- device information, such as device model, operating system version, language and an identifier for this app on your device (IDFV);
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when iOS asks;
- IP address, which can be used to estimate your general location (such as country or city);
- ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown or tapped;
- diagnostic and performance data about ads.
Google uses this information under its own policies. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
App analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to help us improve it. They may collect:
- Usage events — which screens are opened and which features are used (for example "added an expense" or "generated a report"). Events never include amounts, account or budget names, notes or any other details you enter;
- Crash and diagnostic data — technical details when the app crashes or an error occurs, such as the device model, iOS version and the part of the app that failed;
- Identifiers — a random app-instance identifier created by Firebase, and your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking;
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (country or region).
We use this information only in aggregate to improve the app. Learn more in Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Your consent and tracking choices
- Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland and other regions where required): the first time you open the app, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform asks how your data may be used for ads. You can change your choice any time in the app under Tools → About → Ad privacy choices.
- App Tracking Transparency: iOS asks whether the app may track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier is not shared and you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is delivered as a local notification scheduled by your device itself. The app asks for permission only when you switch the reminder on. No notification content passes through any server. You can change this at any time in Settings → Notifications.
Information we collect
We, HOME BERRY, do not collect any personal data from the app. We have no user accounts and no servers of our own that receive data from the app. The only third-party software in the app is Google's — the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics described above. We can see aggregated usage and crash reports from Firebase; we never receive your financial records.
Children
The app is a general-audience personal finance tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Edit or delete any entry in the app at any time.
- Erase all records with Tools → Reset all transactions and records.
- Change ad consent in Tools → About → Ad privacy choices (where available) and tracking in iOS Settings.
- Delete all of the app's data from your device by deleting the app.
Security
Your data file is stored in the app's private storage and encrypted by iOS data protection, so it can't be read from your device until it has been unlocked with your passcode after a restart. Keep your device passcode secure.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever starts collecting your financial data, we will say so here before that version is released.
